We are a psuedo-traditional site; cat prefixes should be based off of coloration and suffixes off of skill, personality, or emphasis on marking. Coloration can be based off of animals in the area.

Please try to stick to animals and plants that live in Florida. There's already a list of animals and plants you can use under "Suggested Prefixes". Use this. We put a lot of time into making this list so that you wouldn't have to go out of your way reseraching. 

Look, those are the only pictures that we can legally use. Any picture you found on google, or facebook or tumblr is copyrighted and using it is considered stealing. 

To be honest the watermark those sites use are kinda gross and icky. Especially if its for high postions. Just there's so many other stock images out there. If you need help ask the staff and we'll find you something.

In real life cats can go into heat as early as six months. BUTTTT for our purposes we're allowing the youngest your character can be nine moons. WITH ADMIN PERMISSION ONLY! So if for some reason you want your Adderpaw to have a mate and kits at nine moons you have to find the admins (Natsu or Beau) and ask them permission. They have a right to say no. If they do say don't don't act out. Any character from nine moons to eleven moons requires admin permission. Once your character hits twelve moons than they can take a mate/have kits without the admins getting involved. 

You're allowed to pick out the warrior names for your apprentice character. Or if you want you can pm the leader  of your apprentice's clan and ask them to pick out the name. 

Mentor and apprentices are pretty much going to be assigned by first some first served. When your character is ready for a mentor simply post in the "Mentor/Apprentice Needs" thread. If you want to pick who mentors your apprentice simply pm that person that you want and if they're on board with it pm a staff and they will do the thing. 

If you upload it into Proboards directly it will stay 150x150 but if youu use a link to photobucket or tinypic it will stay in original proportions up to 150x380.

So when two animals breed they pass on their genes, right? But for cats, the red-black gene (the one that regulates the red/black) is sex related. This means that a male only has one red gene, and a female has two. This means that a male can be either red (O) or black (o). While a female can be red (OO) or black (oo), they also can be tortoiseshell because the two are co-dominant (Oo). This means that unless a male has an extra chromosome (XYX) they cannot be tortoiseshell. Being XYX weakens the cat - it's something akin to down's syndrome in a human being. 

When a male and a female fetus fuse together in the womb, at times the female pelt can show while the male's genetics remain intact. This is extremely rare and it is even rarer that a feline can be fertile, healthy enough to survive in the wild, and tortoiseshell/calico. Thus, we require you to purchase calicos and tortoiseshells from the shop.
