I've got the scars from tomorrow and I wish you could see that you're the antidote to everything except for [me] Jacknose 52 Moons · tom · pineclan · Warrior ∙ straight ∙ image- Pelt: light brown tabby
- Eyes: pale green
- Build: tall, thin
- Other: born with a bit of a cough, Jackpaw was sick as a young kit. He barely recovered enough to be apprenticed at six moons and spent quite a bit of time in and out of the medicine cat den. By the time he was given his warrior name, he had recovered though he is still prone to occasional bouts of illness that terrify him. His last few moons as an apprentice, and first few as a warrior, he was not only healthy but suddenly shot up like some week, gaining legs no one ever expected of him.
- Brief Description: a long legged brown tabby with light green eyes
appearance - General: Jacknose is a bold, loud personality among clan mates, likely a lingering result from a kithood passed in quietness and poor health.
- Things Jacknose Enjoys
- Tracking
- Chatting with the medicine cat
- Being out in the forest
- Things Jacknose Hates
- Being sick
- Small spaces and confinement
- When other cat's treat him differently because of his wonky health
- [yourCharacterName]'s Habits
- Clears is throat a lot, as if worried about developing a cough
- A fastidious groomer, a leftover habit from spending a lot of time idle when he was young
- Jacknose's Positive Traits
- Excellent senese of smell
- Friendly and easy going
- Bold and daring
- Authoritative and self assured
- Jacknose's Negative Traits
- Impulsive
- Has a health complex-get's really paranoid about sickness
- Tries to overcompensate for being pitied as a kit and so always feels like he needs to put on a good front
- Your Own Section
- Jacknose always pushes hard and tries to be better, bolder and more confident than he is; being such a sickly young tom gave him a bit of a complex
personality - History: Founderfoot and Batflower were well known among Pineclan cats for their legendary arguments and their large litters (which often came not long after one of said arguments). They were a dynamic pair of strong personalities--one highly skilled hunter, one fierce fighter--and together they made an exceptional warrior pair. No cat could doubt that they loved each other, but sometimes that love played second paw to their own personalities and so it was a relationship of great highs and great lows.
Their last litter would prove their most memorable, Batflower birthing three tom kits in an early, swelteringly hot greenleaf storm. As was normal, the first two were large, active and mewling the moment they were half dry. It was the last that broke the trend. Jack-kit was small and sickly, born with a constantly running nose and a cough. Batflower worried after the little tom kit constantly, afraid he might not recover and live past his first days (and though she wouldn't have said it, because she did love him, ruin her perfect record of producing strong, healthy warriors for Pineclan)
Blessedly, the clan's dedicated and skilled medicine cat kept Jack-kit alive through careful observation and more than a few herbs and hours of lost sleep.
Although it would take the majority of his young life to be truly healthy, by the time it came for Jack-kit, Ratkit and Cruiserkit to become apprentices, he was declared fit enough to receive his 'paw name.
Still, Jackpaw spent nearly as much time in the medicine cat den as he did out in the forest training. Fortunately, the clan leader had the foresight to give him a creative and patient mentor. Privetstripe worked carefully around Jackpaw's health and, more than once, joked that at the very least, his constant time in the medicine den, surrounded by the scents of herbs, must have been what made the tom such a fine tracker.
Indeed, he had a sharp nose and there was little he couldn't scent and discern from a quick jaw parted sniff of the air.
At eleven moons, Jackpaw's health began to improve dramatically (and a bit mysteriously) and the tom suddenly shot up, becoming surprisingly leggy. At thirteen moons he was given the warrior name Jacknose and joined his brothers Rattail and Cruiserpelt, amongst his fellow warriors.
Many moons have passed since, and though Jacknose has had more extra trips to the medicine cat den than most, his health has been fair. Of course, the fear of falling sick again dodges his pawsteps and he overcompensates for that uncertainty with a booming, boisterous personality and can do attitude but, he is certainly the stalwart, hard working warrior Batflower had always expected her kits to be.
