The sun was high in the sky, but was not providing much warmth. The pine trees that surrounded her did not provide much shelter from the wind, and Goosepaw shivered as the crisp leaf-fall breeze blew against her pelt, chilling her. As beautiful as the leafy trees around SwampClan territory became during leaf-fall, the chill of the season dampened her enjoyment of it. At least it wasn't leafbare. But that was neither here nor there. She had come here to hunt, and regardless of how cold it was, she would do it.
Opening her jaws, Goosepaw breathed in the scents of the forest. However, she could smell nothing, not even a stale mouse trail. She closed her mouth again, frowning. Perhaps she should check the riverbed under the treebridge. There was usually something there. Her mind made up, Goosepaw padded through the forest until she reached the network of fallen trees that led from place to place. As she stepped onto the first log, she peered nervously into the dried up riverbed below. Though she had had several training sessions here with Heronstep, that did not stop her from being frightened of the drop every time she came. However, she made it down without incident, and couldn't help but grin briefly at her success. With that Goosepaw weaved her way through the stones that littered the riverbed, searching for something she could hopefully turn into freshkill.

. BEARPAW . The treebridge was perhaps her favorite place. Not many cats could maneuver it perfectly every single time they crossed it...and for that reason alone she made it a personal goal to never miss a step. And for the most part, she was doing good. She crossed the bridge as much as she could, multiple times daily. She was all work and no play. And while many didn't see why she was that way, she couldn't imagine being any other way.
So when the sun rose as high as it would get, as warm as it would get, she decided to go hunt. Of course near the tree bridge. While the wind was cold and quite cruel, her dark pelt helped as it soaked up the sun. It also helped that she was constantly moving. And that she was built thicker than most she-cats. She wasn't dainty. It was in the blood of her mother and father,..why her siblings were so...so....puny. Though she still "loved" them. She cared for them in an awkward way. She would defend them, but only if it came down to it. She couldn't outwardly love them in front of everyone. She just wasn't emotional that way, towards her family...because part of her was....disgraced. Except for her mother and father, she was their pride and joy and with that notion she loved them.
Paws carried her right to her destination, and she smiled as her yellow eyes lined up with the fallen trees and branches. Without hesitation she crossed to the center, crawling carefully down to the lowest of the branches. It was still quite high from the ravine below but it had never scared it much. Confidently jumping down she trekked up the dry bottom. Usually a mouse was scurrying around, or some sort of prey was.
Within a couple of minutes she had a larger mouse and a medium sized frog. Satisfied she picked them up and started to head back to the bridge when her nose caught the scent of another cat. Familiar to her own it had to be another of her clan, and as her eyes caught the cat,...it was a sight for sore eyes. Dropping the prey she smirked, "There's nothing left up that way, unless you're trying to head to the outskirts of the land. You could head down the ravine but with the late rain it's pretty muddy and I'm not sure you'd balance well in that." Her voice was calm though she was clearly snippy and digging at her sister's abilities...or lack there of.
"I could give you one of these if you want, it'd make it look like you brought something back...." Though this was Bearpaw genuinely trying to help...it came off as another put down....and she didn't try to fix it.
