Distant Galaxies [Literate Sci Fi Roleplay]

The year is 3782 AD.

Earth is but a fraction of what it used to be. Much of it lays in ruins due to years of battling off invaders and struggling with its own economical collapse.

Seventy years before, the planet had been invaded by a species unknown just as space travel had made a ground-breaking possibility. The talks of going faster than lightspeed became possible thanks to technological advances, no longer the talk of old men and their fantasies. Travel to distant galaxies was suddenly possible.

The first mission status returned: failure.

While the world's population watched on, live feed was disrupted when the ship holding the brave new explorers was destroyed by alien life. That life followed vapor trails to locate the planet and thus began the fall of Earth.

But mankind persevered through time. Through sheer strength of will and the refusal to lay down and die, they secured a place amongst the galaxies rather than be wiped out completely.

Now, those struggling from the mire that is their homeworld seek to gain acceptance into Council. It is where the leaders of the galaxy gather. Dignitaries and ambassadors from all reaches of the universe conglomerate to make decisions that can have monumental effects on races, planets, and even entire systems. With the largest military behind them, what they say goes.

Will you join mankind in fighting for rights or succumb to rioting until death do you part?
