It had honestly been forever since Satyrnose felt she had really left her den. She hadn't had a reason and in reality she was cleaning everything. The gorgeous medicine cat had too many issues with her ocd and really either way, who wanted a messy medicine den. She had to make a point when cats came in her, shes a good medicine cat and theres nobody who can say any different... Other than once cat. The one cat that seemed to hate her and she wasn't sure why. Really she rarely spoke to the grumpy cat and when she did she wasn't anything but nice.
Nightfrost was a special cat, never seeming to care that Satyrnose believed in what she did and that no matter what he said she always would. She was a medicine cat for starclans sake. She couldn't save and keep everything perfectly fine and she needed something to rely on, like Starclan. They were the only ones that kept her going... Other than her closest friend Bearheart. Although it could just be that tom that ruins her relationship with her ancestors.
Shaking her head the silver molly with the weird ears sat down outside of her den, grooming through her fur and listening to everyone around her.

Nightfrost yawned, his yellow eyes squeezing shut, his tail lashing from side to side. Looking irritated, the tom cat flicked his ears as he padded outside of the den. His pupils were dilated into tiny pinpricks, his blood chilling his body as he slithered amiably out of the elders' den. The young elder padded across the camp, spotting the medicine cat. Despite his dislike for medicine cats, he wanted to talk to someone. Ooooh, grumpy elder Nightfrost wanted to talk to Satyrnose!
Snorting irritably, he settled next to her. Trying to decide what to say to the medicine cat, he flicked his ears awkwardly.
" Umm.... hi. " Nightfrost finally grumbled irritably. The black elder never liked medicine cats, he did like them before a strange illness took his siblings' lives. The only cat alive was his father, and his father was one of the older senior warriors. Curse StarClan for sentencing him to the elders' den for the rest of his life! Grumbling at the thought, he focused his attention on the weird medicine cat.

[bloackquote] Satyrnose was in mid lick to her shoulder when her body went tense, her head flinching back as she sensed someone settle beside her. Not just someone but the exact cat she was afraid of coming to her. Lifting her head slowly Satyrnose's bright green eyes settled on Nightfrost, forcing her body to loosen up a bit. She gave a small smile shaking out her fur, her funky ears flicking back and forth for a moment. " Umm.... hi." He didn't sound happy at all... Great. Suppose she should try and say something to him shouldn't she? Just awkwardly sitting here after he spoke wasn't going all to well in her opinion.
"Hello Nightfrost." She managed to say, her voice light and pretty though it was shaking a bit. "What b-brings you over to my den this m-morning?" Satyrnose sighed as she heard herself stutter, ashamed of herself in that instant. She was trying so hard to stop that but she just couldn't do it. "I mean you've never show a liking f-for me." This was going horrible already. How was she supposed to make a good impression on the tom who hates her if she can't even talk like a normal cat... Where was Bearheart she needed him. [/blockquote]

" No need to stutter around me. " Nightfrost looked at her kindly, and something other than dislike shocked him even more than it should. Was it.. oh who knows.. well Bearheart would probably kill him for feeling something for the pretty medicine cat. " I .. er .. would like your help with something, how much it pains me to say it. "
The black elder instantly felt guilt wash through him as he thought of his poor siblings. They died of a mysterious disease, and he blamed the medicine cats for their deaths ultimately. He grew uncharacteristically quiet, too quiet for the loud, rude tom. " Satyr, " first of all, what the Darkpool was wrong with him for coming up with a nickname, " Have you ever.. "
Nightfrost felt himself choke up as soon as he thought of his mother, and siblings. " Have you ever.. like.. lost family.. or somecat extremely close to you? " There. Nightfrost got it out.

Satyrnose tilted her head, not used to the toms kindness, let alone him needing her help or even looking at her without a glare. "What is it?" She asked, more concerned due to this being Nightfrost, the toms hatred for medicine cats wasnt something to look past, so why would he come to her? When he asked his question everything made sense. Absolutely everything came together, he had lost a family member and never forgave medicine cats for that, though it was her past mentor that lost the cat. With a small sympathetic smile Satyrnose nodded.
"Actually yes I did Nightfrost." She whispered, looking away for a second. It wasn't usually something she liked to think about but in this case she'd let him know. "I lost my older brother to the trials. He made it out but he was hurt, he was sick before he even went in. By the time he got to the medicine cat there wasn't much anyone could do for him, he was too weak to heal as it was. Of course I was in the medicine den, learning and helping my mentor try and save my brothers life. I never forgave myself for not being able to do it, to this day I blame myself but sometimes we have to realize not every cat can be saved... He was gone before he got to me..." Yes she hated herself for frantically working to save her already lost brother but she had to try didn't she?

Nightfrost listened carefully, his golden eyes distant, but at the same time his expression was blank. His nose twitched as he wandered off into his own little world, and before he knew it, he was reliving his memories.
" No! Please! Let her go! " Nightfrost, Nightpaw then, wailed furtively, struggling between the rock hard grips of the rogues. His golden eyes were wide with horror as the rogues continually continued to beat her, and rape her, before his eyes. Shuddering with the horror of it all, he watched, terrified, as the toms slit her throat with spine-chilling laughter--
" I need to see them! Please! " Nightfrost let out a second furtive wail for the second time in his life. His golden eyes were huge with distress, and tears were welling up. Again, the medicine cat refused to let him see his sister and brother. " What's wrong? Are they sick? Are they hurt? What happened? " His body was shaking; he couldn't lose any more members of his family, losing his mother, Albatrosseye, was bad enough. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the deathly still forms of his siblings laying in their nests. The thick scent of death wafted from the den, and Nightfrost froze.
" No. No. No! NO! " Nightfrost let out a deathly high screech for his own male species, and he shoved the medicine cat aside, running to his siblings. Breathing hard, now sobbing, Nightfrost buried his face into the sides of his siblings. " NO! WHY! YOU SHOULD HAVE SAVED THEM! YOU SHOULD HAVE SAVED THEM! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! IF THEY HAD BEEN GIVEN THE RIGHT TREATMENT, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED!! WHY?! WHY?! WHYY?! " Nightfrost was hysterical, froth bubbling at his mouth as he sobbed viciously.
" No.. It's my fault... All my fault.. No.. Nooo.. " Nightfrost flung himself on top of his siblings as his father watched him sadly. Out of his family, Nightfrost had been the closest to his siblings. " Carpwhisker! Elmfrost! I can't lose you too! Not after Mother.. No! I won't lose you again! " his cries now grew to screeches of grief--
Nightfrost's body shook, and he could feel the tears slipping out of his eyes. He felt so guilty for blaming the medicine cats. So.. guilty. Eventually, his throat began to burn from the pressure the tears were building up. Then it came. His heart carried too much weight of the sadness. Rattling sobs escaped him in one breath, his breaths coming in a harried way.
" I'm.. sorry for.. blaming you.. It was.. my fault. I couldn't save them. I couldn't save them because I was too weak. " Nightfrost sobbed, and put his face into Satyrnose's fur for comfort, his tiny, frail body shuddering with tremendous sobs.

Satyrnose had never exactly seen a cat suddenly shaking so bad besides herself. She had never known a cat to react so horribly enough to go back into his own mind and hunt down his bad memories. Satyrnose was ready to get to her paws and run to her den getting poppy seeds for the young elder when he spoke.
" I'm.. sorry for.. blaming you.. It was.. my fault. I couldn't save them. I couldn't save them because I was too weak. " Satyrnose instantly started shaking her head, licking his ears as he settled into her fur. "No, no. Nightfrost its not your fault. These things happen, they'll happen to everyone. You did anything you could. I'm sorry we couldn't save them.. We tried to do everything in our power. believe me when I say no matter the cat we will do whatever it takes to save their life." she took a deep breath, thinking back to Bearheart again.
"We may not be allowed to love and have a family of our own but that just means that we'll take more out of ourselves to try and save your family. To us, your family is our family. Nightfrost you are my family and I'd do whatever it takes to save you, to save any of the cats in this clan. I couldn't save my own brother and I fear for my little brothers lives when they go into the trials. Being a medicine cat... Cats lives are in our paws and thats more stress than you might think espescially when we know the cats who come into our den. If Cootpaw ended up in here I'd be hestarical. If you ended up in here long from now, dying of an illness I would do everything I could unless you told me to let you go. I'm here to help you, while I understand why you blamed me for the loss of your siblings, I want you to understand. I did everything in my power." It hurt her to say this as she remembered clearly being the little cat she was, Coyotefoot standing tall and brilliant at her side telling her what to do.
